Earby Brass Band Book Launch

This successful event was held in the New Road Community Centre on Sunday 7th October

There was an exhibition of photographs and band memorabilia including old instruments, musical scores dating back to the 1890's and competition programmes from all over the country in the 1960's and 1970's when the band was at the height of it's success.

Ex band member Squire Firth gave an interesting and enthusiastic speech to launch the book and Stephanie spoke about her experience of writing it, and thanked all those who helped along the way. She was able, with a mention of the band playing at the Cricket Club, to introduce her next project on the history of the Earby Cricket Club!

An excellent performance by the Earby Brass Band followed at 3.00pm.

Tea, coffee, cakes & scones were served in the Centenary Room throughout the afternoon by Just Ask Jess.
