History Walks

We are planning a series of walks in Earby and the surrounding area looking at places of historical interest.

View walks:

Walk One:

A circular walk from the Youth Hostel to Thornton Church via the old part of Earby and back via Booth Bridge.

Walk Two:

A circular walk from the Anchor Inn Salterforth to County Brook Mill along the Canal bank, back via Booth House farm to Dye House and back through the old part of Salterfoth

Walk Three:

A circular walk from the Youth Hostel, Birch Hall Lane, Earby looking at ancient byways and their uses throughout the years.

Walk Four:

A circular walk starting at the "Old Grammar School" looking at the Corn mill then climbing to  the Bronze Age burial cairn on Hare Hill and then back down via the Roman fort at Elslack and Roman Road, Boothbridge.
